  • Machine Design – including evaluation of consumer, commercial and industrial products for life, function, safety, or performance to specification, including Uniform Commercial Code claims.  Specialized testing performed as related to claims.

  • Issues of Guarding, Warnings and Safety as each relates to Machine Design and claims of design defect, accident causation, or non-compliance with accepted safety standards (ANSI, UL, CSA, ISO & OSHA).
     

  • Failure Analysis – fractography (determination of failure mode by study of fracture surfaces) for all materials, metallography (evaluation of the microstructure of metallic materials), non-destructive examination, load/stress analysis, operating environment evaluation and other activities utilized to determine the cause of material or component failures.
     

  • Accident Reconstruction – ranging from reconstruction of explosion sites to motor vehicle accidents to personal injuries associated with body movement.  Associated videotaped demonstrations, reconstructions or animations.
     

  • Structural failures of foundations, walls and roofs; geohydrology and flooding; suitability of walking surfaces for slip and trip hazards; and construction workplace safety.
     

  • Trial Exhibit and Model Construction – static or working, full or part scale models.
